Lori Slavin

I am a Harvard graduate and former corporate attorney turned abstract painter.  Awed by art’s capacity to evoke wonder and transformation, even if just for a moment or two, I strive to bring such experiences to those who view my work.  Through my modern abstract paintings, which utilize vivid colors and soft geometrics to harmonize contrasts, I attempt to both celebrate and tame this wonderful chaos called life.

I am also dedicated to using my art to make a difference in the fight against cancer, a disease that affects virtually every family.  In addition to participating in Art in Giving, I founded and run Janet’s Jems for Healing, a volunteer program at the Massachusetts General Hospital, named after my mother, who died of ovarian cancer.  Through it, I design and donate my handmade jewelry to cancer patients to remind them that they are not alone.
