Chris Bain

I am from England where I studied at the Winchester School of Art. I relocated to the United States and received an MFA, Painting & Drawing from Boston University where the Turner Prize Nominee artist, John Walker, mentored me. I am currently a professor of art history.

My paintings are grounded in philosophical concepts--natural observations of the landscape, mapping, and complicit networks of organic matter. I am concerned with paintings as an organized network of drips, allowing gravity to assist and uncover forms that convey geometric gestural movement, revealing organic forms through the convection of light, space, structure and color.
