Greg Mason Burns

Born in Bar Harbor, Maine (1975), Greg Mason Burns completed his Master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh (UK), with a focus on European Politics. He has two Bachelor degrees from the University of Maine, Orono, the first in Journalism and the second Public Administration. He currently resides in the United States and previously resided in the United Kingdom, Chile, and Brazil.

Burns began his artistic career while living in Santiago de Chile in 2010 and later developed in Brazil and the U.S.. A self-taught artist, his influences include Kandinsky, Barnett Newman, Diebenkorn and Earnest Hemingway. He highlights emotional unknowns, with particular attention to societal pressure, adventure, fear, frustration, stress, and chaos. He creates critical works that directly relate to the surroundings that impact him most in a particular phase or moment. He works in a variety of media including: oil, acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor, photography, and collage. Because of these different influences, Burns’ work is diverse.

Burns has exhibited internationally, including locations in Brazil, Portugal, Scotland, and the United States.
